Reunited? Sounds like there's a story there, I'm sure we'd like to hear about.

Also, seemed weird to me at first when you said you were "in" a train, (I won't mention what else came to mind :p) but then I thought, yeah, that's actually where we ride. Not "on" like most of us say. Things that make you go...

Lol...yeah I guess I'm back to thinking in German, speaking way more German than English and in German it's directly translated I'm in the train.

Anyways the Tyler Story, 2 decades ago I had a bunch of high end stuff I think it was like 5 Suhr and 3 Tylers, when the first wife wanted to move back to LA I rented us a house in Malibu (up in the hills what they call the slums of Malibu lol), while keeping the house I had to buy to take care of her animal rescue/hoarding crazyness.

In order to make that happen with security deposit being 4500 bucks (in 2009) I had to liquidate stuff.
So obviously the highend stuff I got at cost or better was the first to go.

I sold I think all the Suhrs, 2 Tylers and a few more to a guitar buddy of mine that was in a good financial state.

Now as always I did the caveat if down the line I come into money again sell it back to me fir what I sold it to you for.
So that one particular Tyler that would've been 3600 in a store when I got it I sold 4 years later fir 2800.
That guitar now in the US (I spec'd it out of curiosity would be 7400$) or after shipping and duty/tax 9300 in Germany.
So not only did I get a screaming deal but I'm able to make payments.
And of course even with those the girlfriend ain't happy since it put a dent into the stuff that still needs to be done in the house.
But hey priorities lol...

I digress, so about a decade ago I tried to get it back but he was using it all the time and didn't want to part with it.
He had some family issues, and a back surgery that made life less than stunning so now he was willing to let it go.
But he couldn't ship it.

So another friend (the guy I worked for at THD Electronics) was willing to pick it up from him. They live fairly close to each other.
Now he's only willing to ship UPS, my experience from getting gear when the fire did us in was that unless it's Fedex customs prepaid you get reamed.
Like 200 bucks of 2nd hand clothes cost 100 bucks to ship and 30 in duty.

So the Tyler shipped from WA state to another friend (likely the scariest guitarist I know, will post a link...) Who already was nice enough to send me a Mesa MkV 25 and Heatley 7 string and he took care of shipping it.
And let's me make payments for the shipping/tax which was 400 bucks.

Anyways to the guitar...

When I already had a couple if Tylers and Jim was still actually doing the work himself, I asked him to built me one "chef's choice" instead of me doing the specs.
He already knew what I usually works spec out.
But I wanted a Supoer Strat that felt like an old Strat modded to hot rod.
And that's what I got.

IOW I'm stoked that I have it back cause it's a killer guitar, plus it has sentimental value for me (with Jim being gone).

Btw I think I actually did a PG rated version of the story in a GFM update.

And here's a link to my favorite, lesser known, most killenest guitarist...
