What are these good for? (Celestions)

Started going through the mountain of speakers from my dad's place. Out of all those damn things there's only one Celestion G12T-75. I've got about 4 WGS Retro 30's and 4 British Leads (going to try these out tomorrow).

I'll check out the 12's I have no experience with. I already have some Retro 30's in a cab, so I'm curious about the British Leads. The G12T-100's and Seventy 80's seem to have about the same mixed review rate with the same description of being sterile/neutral. Feel free to share any experience with any ya have!

I know there's a good amount of 10" guitar speakers, with all the Fender and older Marshall stuff, but wtf do you use 8's in?!?

I think I have 6 of those things. I also have several Tube 10's-

FWIW, if anyone has a use for any of these, I’ll give them away for free, just pay me for the shipping fee. I’m pretty certain they’re all new, I didn’t see any signs of wear on any of them. I need these out of here like I need the 4 broken synth gone from my studio as well.

I’m going to keep a couple British Leads and the G12T-75, but all the rest are up for grabs.

I think 8” speakers are mainly sold to 1. people wanting to upgrade the speakers in small combo amps and 2. harmonica players (they love them)…

…but I bought a Celestion 8” for a small DIY cab project and ended up liking it a lot for some things. I mainly bought it with the intention of lower volume practice and a light, portable cab I’d mount my Quilter SuperBlock on, but I love how focused bass-heavy fuzzes sound with it, and it does the jangly Vibro Champ thing well too. I wouldn’t want it for everything, and not anything heavy, but it’s cool and doesn’t have to be boxy.

If I could find a little cab to toss a couple into it might be worth keeping a couple around. Maybe I’ll toss one together at work this week.

The Eminence 820H 8" hempcone speakers are great. I have a pair in a little combo amp that sound full and warm. They mic up well too.

I need one G12T-75 16 ohm. If you decide to sell it, let me know. I have a 4x12 with 3 of them as the 4th blew its voice coil. I found one semi-locally on Craigslist but I just can’t seem to get together with the guy. We keep missing each other.

I just have no clue what purpose these small speakers serve. Is it for lower volumes/amps??
They're almost always seen in practice amps so I guess the idea is that it's an affordable speaker to make that fits into a compact chassis.

Celestion's website only has the Eight 15 speaker in the 8" category and they sell it as an upgrade for practice amps.

But I could imagine putting multiple of those 8" speakers into a single enclosure could sound interesting. Orange has made a 4x8 cab with their "Voice of the World" speakers.

What other 10's do you have besides the Tune 10's? Any Vintage 10's? If so I am interested.
Were the vintage 10s what they used in those Marshall 4x10 cabs back in the day? If so, they are really nice because those cabs sound sweet imo.

The 1965 cabs have the G10L35s in them...my favorite Marshall cab of any that I've owned.
Ok, so they are different speakers then. Definitely great cabs. Never owned one, but I've played through a few in some jam sessions and quite surprised how well they sounded. On one of the occasions I ran a home built tweed super head through it, added a boost and it was heavenly. :love
