What about those "magic" diodes?

I've just been watching this (long!) video concerning the history and electronic curiosities of the Klon Centaur diodes.

It's really genuinely interesting, if you're already insterested in this sort of thing of course.

Perhaps we should have a "builders" sub-forum. On the other hand, maybe it wouldn't see much use it because there's already a bunch of other forums where those sorts of people hang out already?

Equivalent germanium diodes aren't that hard to come by but due to builders misunderstanding the info that's out there it's easy to buy diodes that don't quite sound right. That, however, only matters if you're trying to build a 1:1 clone.
