100% its not an age thing, music has to move you stir you
You either have to move to it dance to it, headbang or even tap your feet

But I’m sitting here listening to new Vulfpeck, Cory Wong, Dirty Loops, and Mark Lettieri tracks and thinking the future looks pretty good.

Simply incredible, dude kept warping my mind song after song


He has a guest solo on my absolute favorite rising Denver band’s album. These guys are also incredible. They’re a jamband but ferociously proggy, truthfully listening to the record one probably wouldn’t immediately guess jamband remotely either lol. They stretch out simply incredible full improv for 40min + on the regular live

lol I love Berried Alive. This song is not their best moment, but they have some great tracks and can absolutely play. They have a dry sense of humor too, which is cool.

I definitely prefer the older stuff I grew up with. That's what I play and listen to 90% of the time. But I like modern metal guitar playing. Some of these guys are taking the guitar to places that I don't have the slightest idea how to even begin to play like that. And that's cool.

I think right now that are good new bands in pretty much every style/decade of music and that's great. During the 1900's labels were dictating what was acceptable and that limited what was out there. That's over now and people are just doing whatever the hell they want. That can't be bad.

My music tastes are all over the place personally. I’m 32 so Mayve slightly younger than many on this forum. I have a pretty open mind and even when it comes to stuff I don’t like, including basic modern pop, I do still like to a. Stay informed, B. Get more analytical about stuff i don’t like and try and understand what people do like about it, and c. Especially with modern main stream music study the production and arraingment . And also what’s going on exactly. People can drop the “lowest common denominator” line all they want but it doesn’t change the fact that none of them could dream of dropping a top 100 track that’s allegedly stupid drivel lol
