That's a really impressive repair. He basically rebuilt a whole section of the neck piece by piece.

When he shows the first cut on the back of the neck, you can see how little wood there is under the truss rod in that area. There's like maybe 2mm of wood at the end of the truss rod cavity. No wonder these things break!

Yet Gibson keeps perpetuating this flaw in their guitars, even though it makes no sense for their regular lineups. They could leave this bullshit for their Historic lineups instead.

I blame it on my wife and youtube. Just search "ASMR" and it's a whole other world. It's all about a calming voice, often whispering, intimate sounds and textures in a quiet room vibe, doing small routine tasks, etc. My wife started watching these years back and it's become quite popular. It helps her wind down at night. I'm guilty of watching some with her, but I don't really need help falling a sleep these days.
