Hold on. The GP-200 is *not* sending out MIDI PCs?!?
I mean, sure, most people would buy a unit like it for standalone usage, but as there actually *is* a MIDI out, why in the world would it not send out PC messages when that is *the* most common things almost ever since MIDI has seen the light of the day? That's just incredibly stupid.

For what I understood about my communication with them, it's the same amps from MG30, MG400, MG300MKII, etc. The difference in quality might be the improved DSP chip.
They have the same approach as the Helix for now - dont update or change the code of amps after it is released. The only exception was VIVO (5150) but they only changed the tone (code) from the beta to the final release. Once final release is out they did not get back to the code to improve it.

Valeton is more mysterious, they dont reply if they will improve or change the code. IT seems to me they expect the same code to run better on the newer 48khz chip, I bet they didnt do any tweaking on the amp modeling ode but that is my opinion.
If they add improvements that are not seen such as sag, bias and tone stack emulation, we might never know.
However same amps on the GP180 and Gp200 do sound different. Either bad optimiation for the new chip (GP180 runs at 48khz) or something else.

OK I tried to use the built-in stuff to get a Metallica MOPish era sound going but it's just a flubby mess.

So NAM/Tone3000 to the rescue:

Dont feel the Valeton model is much inferior
I'm using very cheapo ESP LTD G&B LH-150 pickups the default which comes from the factory on most 200 models
