Using A Digital Mixer to Control a DAW

Hi all,
I have the following recording setup:
  • Cubase 14 Pro (running on a Desktop - Gen 12 i9 Core)
  • Focusrite Scarlett 18i20
  • Behringer X-Touch One
I also have a Soundking DM20 digital mixer - https://www.soundking.com/products/details/dm20.html

I was wondering if it is possible to connect the DM20, (via USB, AES/EBU, S/PDIF, midi or other) to either the Focusrite, X-Touch or the PC, so that I could use the 9 motorised faders on the DM20 to control the Cubase channel faders (during recording and mixing)?

I have done a lot of looking on Google and all I have found is how to use the mic inputs and effects on a digital mixer to feed a DAW, not 'control' the DAW.

Currently, I use a Yamaha MG10XUF & the Focusrite for playing audio from my PC, so the Soundking is not used at all.

Cheers & thanks for any assistance.

You might want to reach out to them directly. I don't see any literature saying it can integrate with DAWs. But have you tried running the usb into the computer and see if Cubase recognizes it? I don't use Cubase so not sure of their setup parameters.

It doesn’t look like it was designed to do that, I think you’ll need some different gear to control the cubase faders.

Fuzzy Ace & MirrorProfiles,
I much appreciate your input. It doesn't look hopeful .... I'll try connecting it up and see what happens.
Cheers
Paul
