I didn't give mine a fair shake, methinks. I only used it with it's onboard cab sim, and I never tried my trusted IRs with it.

It was also an open box unit, so it didn't have the midi cable, so I couldn't use midi with it, and I just got turned off on it.

I didn’t even try the cabsim…100% expecting it to suck big time

I tried it with Opus and Ox Stomp. Either of those improved it greatly but ultimately other ‘preamp’ or ‘amp in a box’ choices I have made me realize I wasn’t going to use ReVolt over them so out the door it went.
weirdly IR-X is great but doesn’t seem to need the outboard IR device. It just does its job really well without any help.

The more I play this unit…to more I look at my main board as a candidate for shrinking to a smaller one…

Yeah, thinking about shrinking my board, too. But from all I know, the IR-X would be a vastly better solution for my use cases.

Partially. But I also seem to like the overall sound better. And I dig the boost concept.
