Tube amps are going away…. again.

i like fluff a lot but man do they have the clickbait thing nailed now lol, this checks off every box for that which makes me not want to watch it even though its a relevant topic for me right now.

everyone comes at this from a different place, from a different genre, from different gear wants/needs, from playing way different venues, so there really isn't a definitive blanket statement that works. i don't think tube amps are over even though i was considering going direct a few hours ago lololol. a touring pro would have way different feelings on this than someone who plays out once or twice a month or someone that only enjoys playing at home. i also dont hear or read stories about studio engineers getting rid of all their tube amps.

TBH the whole influencer thing is getting really old. At the same time, if newer players aren't playing amps then they aren't playing with drummers. If you've never played with a real drummer and bandmates, it's just not the same. I do a bunch of digital work and I have plenty of songs I've written myself and recorded with programmed drums for sure, but that creative experience is inferior IMO to actually jamming and creating with other people.

Playing real instruments. Loud.

I’ve been not using amps and playing with real drummers and bandmates for many years ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
