Tone King Imperial Preamp pedal

So DT770 Pro’s are good, but don’t trust them for fine tuning a guitar sound.
I agree with a but; I’ve had good results from applying EQ to get closer to the Harman curve with autoeq.app settings. When later listening back on various speakers my guitar tones have been adequate after mixing with DT770’s. But for straight-in guitar playing with a preamp pedal, modeler or plugins the open-back headphones win every time.

I got good results with Sonarworks for my DT’s and I still have them because the have a great sound for many things. But yeah, guitar playing is always HD600.

im intrigued by the lack of posts about this pedal, which I plan to get in few months.
I thought it was getting rave reviews around the globe.

Is it a good or bad silence?

This has me curious. I love playing through headphones. Did you try many others or just luck out with the HD600’s? What about HD650’s?

I currently use Yamaha’s.

nope, my first decent headphones was DT770 when i started using modeling, after a year i bought HD600 and those remain :) Sometimes use the DT's but im so used to open headphones now that it feels really weird with closed.

I use the HD600's for everything although one could say that they are "boring" or to neutral for everyday stuff (music, gaming, tv etc...) but im so used to them now that i dont bother with anything else except my AirPod Pro's wich are also brilliant.

I havent got around to test, but i think its worth trying out semi-open HP's and really nerd out on it, finding THE ones. Because fully open like the HD600's has its drawbacks.
One being acoustic string noise when playing guitar. One has to be careful with volume! The other is that everyone around you hear exactly what you're listening to :D No problems at home...

It has been great when using them and still being able to hear the kids when they were little. I could game or play guitar or listen to music but still hear when any of them woke up or cried or was about to destroy something. Wife yelling... such things..

I’m loving mine. I use it for DI recording and I’m monitoring with Sennheiser HD6XX’s.

I’m in Eastern Europe for 3 months and brought it with me with an RME Baby Face FS Pro, a few pedals and a Tele, and I’m loving the recorded tones I’m getting.

I have an IRX that I’ve used to great effect also but the TKIP with its “zero” watt power amp with the third tube and the much better routing options takes that type of tech to the next level for me.

My messy yet effective traveling DI recording studio:
