Last year when I was having my LP reworked the guy had a Lollar Imperial sitting around and I had him throw it in the bridge (standard wind I think?).
I love that pickup in the bridge! Now it’s time to swap out the neck pickup and I’m trying to decide what to go with.
Currently there’s a Gibson 61 BurstBucker in there. It’s not terrible, but it’s kind of muddy. I want something that is very clear and articulate, open, airy, and light in the low end.
It also has to pair well with the Imperial in the bridge. I use the middle position all the time and it’s got to give me that jangly-almost-Tele-ish thing I love so much about the LP middle position. I want to reach for my LP instead of a Strat when I’m playing funk gigs!
What should I look at?

- Lollar low wind Imperial

Probably low wind Imperial. But honestly, I've no experience with either although always wanted to try them.
