So... after buying a few more pedals I really wanted to give a go - primarily the Tone King preamp pedal, the Chase Bliss Tonal Recall RKM and the RevivalDrive Hot Rod custom - I decided to put together a small pedalboard (PT Metro 20) with the Tone King preamp pedal as the centrepiece.
Putting together this new board, some pedals were taken from my larger pedalboard. So I had to revisit that one as well.
An important consideration when putting together the boards and deciding which of my pedals to put on each of them, was that I wanted both boards to be useful for both headphone use, for use with my CLR active wedge, for going direct to FOH and/or recording and for use with my last remaining tube amp (Bogner Shiva 20th) (apart from from my Synergy SYN-1 + preamp modules). I also wanted to be able to power each of the boards with my two Cioks DC7 power supplies, i.e. not having to have separate wall warts etc.
So far I really like the result! Both boards are fun and inspiring and I can't really decide which I like best. But then again, I put them together to have both anyways...
Smaller board:
Signal chain:
Origin Effects Cali76 Deluxe -> Durham Sex Drive -> Sonic Research Turbo tuner mini -> Paul C Timmy -> Wampler Tumnus Ge Deluxe -> Origin Effects RevivalDrive Hot Rod Custom -> Tone King Imperial w/Chase Bliss Tonal Recall and MXR M300 in the FX loop.
The entire board is powered by a Cioks DC-7 (with the Imperial running at 12V [using two outlets to handle the current draw], the Cali76 at 18V and the rest at 9V).
Larger board:
Signal chain:
Skreddy Lunar Module -> Origin Effects Cali76 -> Origin Effects Halcyon Green -> Fulltone OCD -> PastFX Elastic Mattress -> Sonic Research Turbo tuner -> Origin Effects RevivalDrive Compact -> Origin Effects RevivalTrem -> IK Multimedia Tonex One -> Strymon El Capistan -> UAFX Heavenly -> Two Notes C.A.B. M+.
The entire board is powered by a Cioks DC-7 (with the Cali76 at 18V, the Elastic Mattress at 18V, the CAB M+ at 12V, the Tonex One on the USB outlet, while the other 6 pedals are in 2 groups of 3 on daisy chains at 9V).
My Lehle mono volume pedal will be used with both of the boards as I see fit.
