Apols for dragging the thread down (!) but this video is great for summing up my feelings on them. Technically amazing but I get almost nothing out of it emotionally, melodically or even contextually. The look on his face kind of says it all, and that right hand looks like it belongs filing accounts than playing music expressively.
Symphony X clearly don't suck, but as with most, there are things they are incredible at, and things they suck at. I struggle to enjoy the things Symphony X are great at because of the areas where they fall short.
