I'm not 100% sure this was here or somewhere else and I can't even really think of how to search for this. It was a ruggedized laptop with a touchscreen and a bunch of stuff, including Reaper preinstalled. Does that ring a bell with anyone?

No. I' really just at the beginning of my research. Before I commit any money, I want to explore the option. Right now I'm experimenting with Gig Performer and Cantabile.
