The “always on” pedal trap

Probably the truest thing he's ever claimed.

I'm taking this too seriously, but whatever. Not sure why it's a trap? If enhancing your toanz is wrong, then everyone should just play acoustic.

Oh shit, my rig sounds much better with this pedal always on, better get rid of it!

A trap doesn't actually mean it's bad. Just like tweaking is a terrible trap, while most folks can't quit doing it.

Always-on is a trap, because you won't turn it off anymore and wouldn't ever wanna miss it, once you've been there.

Don't take the interwebz too literally. 😉

Which DynaComp do you like?

Lately I’ve been using one of the newer script ones with the led. I used to have some older ones I had modded that were nice, but they’re gone. So far I haven’t felt a need to mod this one (I’m guessing it’s probably SMD anyway)

:rofl

Feel like I am in some abandoned house watching you all try to find
a decent hypodermic to reuse. Again.

Be on the lookout for the release of a new Signature Pedal:

The Always On Junkie Compressor! :love:chef

Inject your tone with the pleasing smoothing dynamics and attack softening qualities
for a shaky hand jonesing for another rush of that Always On Tonal Bliss!

Tweaking is not a trap. Tweaking is what music is all about.

ENHANCE TOANZ

Speak for yourself, the less I’m tweaking the happier I am. Tweaking kills music for me

I blame too many years in country bands for my compressor addiction :rofl

They’re super useful for theater stuff. A lot of times I need to jump between funk strumming, jazz comping, clean single note lines, distorted rhythms, and I need the levels to stay very balanced. It’s especially helpful when I’m alternating between comping chords and single note lines with clean tones. The two stay more balanced so chords don’t poke out too much and single note lines don’t get lost.

Sounds like you truly need more than one Comp, Met. A Dynacomp style Comp at the front of your
chain and a levelling Comp/limiter at the end of your chain.

For me, Comps are fun.... but also very distinctive and a very prominent effect once you learn how
to hear how they sound. Country and 80s Pop/Rock. Maybe some Funk and R & B. Yes! :chef

Metal, Blues, or Hard Rock?? No fucking way! Not for me anyways. :hmm :headbang

And goes without saying, amps are different too. Some have the equivalent of a drive or boost pedal in the preamp section already while some are squeaky clean. An always on boost or compressor might be perfect for the latter amp.
