I put together a quick cover with a bit of a back story. I retired from the corporate world at the end of 2020 and have evolved into being a caregiver for my cousin Shawn who has Down Syndrome and is also starting to have some memory issues. He is known around our town as the biggest music fan around and can be seen out on the dance floor everywhere we go doing his Elvis impersonation and playing air guitar. Crowds really love his energy and often join in with him. Since he is a huge Elvis fan, we started doing Hound Dog regularly and it's become a real crowd pleaser, mostly due to how he reacts.
I put together this quick demo of Hound Dog as a fairly easy one to get something uploaded as a start. Hope to do a few more and something original next.

Well done! I like your take on the song.
Very cool about your cousin too, Down Syndrome individuals always make me smile when I've interacted with them. They seem to love life and have an eagerness about them that's fun.

This is called "Raining Cause She's Crying". Used a James Tyler into Neural's Nolly plugin and Halion 7 for all other sounds.

I put together something that started as a jam wankage track, but I wrote some basic lyrics to turn into a song. Guitars are my Les Paul with Bare Knuckle Emeralds into my Mk IIC+ (left), EVH 50W EL34 (right), and the Synergy JMP Pre (middle and solos).

Here we are people, the one you have all been waiting for! The Gear Forum "Do Something Challenge" Season 11 ;~)) Yes, this one goes to 11 and you can bet it is going to be one more in every way.
For the uninitiated, please go to the "Do Something Challenge" outline to read up on what this is all about and what the general rules are. If you don't, and you f up, the label may drop you or not release your album (unless you change the artwork)!
Week 1 is the "Smell The Glove" Edition of Season 11 DSC, so don't worry, there is nothing wrong with being sexi! Let's hear those smash hits that the critics are sure to describe as "A lot of noise", "Memorable yet funny", "Derivative, obvious, phony and pretentious" and of course "Sh!t sandwich".
What's that, you have no idea what is going on here and you didn't read the page linked above? OK, here you go you lazy turd:
1. Make and record some music NOW (not stuff you did last month, not stuff you did in high school, NOW stuff).
2. Upload it to soundcloud, Youtube or wherever you like.
3. Put a link in the current weeks thread (this thread is Season 11 Week 1) with a tag to identify what type of music it is. Tag options are #Orig (for an original song), #Cover (for a cover song), #Jam (for a riff or lick or jam that is not a song) and #Collab (for a collaboration piece between you and another participating forum member). Don't put in a tag, be prepared to have your entry NOT counted! It ain't rocket science and it takes seconds at best.
4. Sit back and wait for the adulations to pour in (and be sure to hand out your own adulations as well to the other participants - don't be a dick).
5. When the season is over, you will get a banner under your avatar showing that you are a TGF Recording Artist and if you really step up and produce, you may get the illustrious "TGF Champion" banner!
This whole endeavor is intended to encourage members to USE THEIR F'IN GEAR AND SHARE WHAT THEY CREATE! To browse previous seasons, you can go to the DSC Archive ;~)) Season 11 will be 6 weeks long and it will close Mar 07, 2026 at 11:59 pm HT. Week 1 for Season 11 will end on Saturday January 31, 2026 at 11:59 pm HT. For more details on 2026 DSC scheduling, see this post!
So now that you are all feeling warm and fuzzy inside from that pep talk, get on your knees, smell the glove and make some music . . . NOW!
I almost missed this, I just posted a song on another forum , Drums (EZ) Bass DI in to my 500 series mic pre - amp , guitar hard pan , left / right. Amplifier is EVH 5150 lll LBX 15w ,
2 overdrives at unity, Guitar is my Dean Custom Import Ebony neck, no fret markers, SD Invader, bridge. But I could cut a different track. I just mastered it today( if can call it that)

My power has been out all morning so I'll have to drop a rough demo track for a new song from my band. Bassist came up with the idea, we jammed in it a few times and I came up with this final arrangement that we'll be practicing tomorrow. I'm supposed to be rendering copies of new song arrangements for my drummer without the drum tracks but looks like I'll be singing Kumbaya down here by the dumpster fire until my power comes back on

Bass is my Ibby Talman with either Helix Native or just direct in.
Drums are Addictive Drums 2.
Vocals are using Fabfilter Pro C, Pro Q, and Saturn. Recorded on a super cheap, super cardioid EV dynamic mic with the studio monitors on, you can hear the metronome at times.
Faux organ is Axe 3. We have an organ player in the band but I didn't want to just write a part for him. I did however want to show him a back/forth solo idea I had so there it is
