They're definitely not strident or too bright imo. The neck is perfect, smooth, buttery, with a hint of salt on top. :p
The bridge is snappy, not shrill but still vintagy enough. Decent output too.

Ive got a Lollar 52 single and a Fralin 43 (P90), both for bridge.
Both great and fairly priced.

I like to focus on magnet type when I think of tonal characteristics. A2, A3, or A4 are going to
be a bit sweeter/rounder, in my experience, and be not as strident. A5 is going to have more bite
and immediacy to the attack than either A2, A3, or A4.

Just helps me hone in on what I am going after to think about magnet used rather than the
specific pickup. :idk
