Tech 21 announces a SansAmp Classic limited run production for 2026

Tech 21 NYC has announced a limited edition production run of the venerable SansAmp Classic, shipping in late January to early February 2026.

Wow, haven’t heard much from Tech21 for quite a while. That cheap Joyo crap seems to have impacted their sales quite a bit.

I’ve always loved Tech 21 products , I have a Trademark 60 that I’ll never get rid of. Is used out of the question? There seems to typically be a couple on Reverb.

I remember trying the Trademark 60 and thinking it was a really cool amp.

Not really, but they don't seem to show up often, and i'm also living in Europe these days

They reissue the Sansamp Classic every 5 years, no big deal imho.

I used one a lot in the 90s. I should buy one just for nostalgia. Tech 21 makes great gear.

Bought mine for 150€ back in 2020, according to Tech 21 it's from July 1993.

Gave it a spin this week, to my surprise it holds up quite well against my Zoar and Dumbloid ODS even.

My favorite setting is "normal" mode, all dip switches up except 4, 6, 8. Output to taste, the other three knobs somewhere around noon.

Will get pretty fuzzy when hit with a nice boost!

It's a bit noisy tho, lots of idle hiss.

I respect Sansamp for being one of those companies that just carries on with their own thing. Like it or not, they’re consistent and professional grade. Rickenbacker is another one of those companies. They don’t need to bring much new to the table and yet they’re still cool.

I liked mine and it has mojo, but the practicality of the Catalyst/Katana won me over. They could probably sell a bunch if they relabeled the effects return as “poweramp in”.
