Strats. How is yours wired?

Stock but with a wax paper vintage cap a cts push pull Gilmour mod and the EJ tone mod.

That's how I have mine wired too though I'm using a 47nf cap.
It would probably work better from me if I would use the tone more. Its literally set on 8 for the bridge and forgotten. I dont use tone knob for the M/N, its there just for the load. I'm using the Volume quite a bit on strats, though

Also a lot like mine

The push pull just adds the neck pickup to whatever is set on the switch and the EJ mod ( or my version ) is one tone for the neck and middle and one for the bridge. Very simple but useful stuff.

That's how I have mine wired minus the push pull. I think I'd like to add a push pull to occasionally defeat the tone on the bridge though.

All my 3 pickup "strats" have a master volume, master low cut and a tone control. Values vary on a few, 2 have 500K pots throughout, while 1 has 500K vol, and 1M for the 2 tone controls. Bass cut uses a .001µF cap, tone on 1 is .047µF that I normally like, although I have one with a .022 and another with .1µF. Only one has a 3-way switch, the others use a standard 5-way.

I don't know how or why anyone wouldn't have a tone control on the bridge pickup, where it's needed most! Both of my custom strats have the bridge tone knob and the ability to blend in the neck pickup. My SS has an Alembic blaster onboard as well.

I took the tone control off mine a few months ago as an experiment and it was pretty cool... at times. I quickly realised I couldn't run without it all the time but with a fuzz face on it worked really well. That's why I'm thinking about adding a push pull to take it in or out of the circuit.

That is why I A) use a master tone, and B) use no load tone pots. Gives you any position with tone control or without it in the circuit.

Couldn't agree more. Im fairly comfortable with a Strats in a classic form, but the Bridge pickup tone control was a game changer for me

My Strat is a 1996 G&L Legacy.

It uses 1M volume and tone pots, and has G&L's treble/bass cut circuit that works on all pickups. For traditional Strat tones you want to roll the treble pot down a good amount.

While the bass cut is perhaps not that useful on single coils, it's still a cool feature I'd recommend anyone to try to tighten up your sound.

Gilmour Strat w/ EMG’s- the tone knobs are the Mid and Treble/Bass boost. I keep them off 75% of the time and at most push the mids up to 4 and the Treble/Bass to .5-2 at the max, the bass comes in WAY too quick and gets muddy, but when both controls are on there’s no way I could tell the difference between them and an actual humbucker.

Old Man Strat- Master Volume-Master Tone-Blend for Neck pickup to blend it into whichever pickup you’re on. I just realized 2 weeks ago there’s a push/pull on the Maser tone to activate the neck/bridge. The previous owner must have really enjoyed that neck pickup combined with others!

I’m going to do some experimenting in the next year. I’ve never bothered with single coils but the Marshall tones I’m diggin’ on lately definitely lend themselves to some tone nerd chasing. I’ll probably put some EJ-esque pickups in the Old Man Strat but I’ve even considered swapping the Gilmour EMG’s out for something else because I love that Strat so much and don’t get as much use out of the boosters as I feel I would other options with different pickups.

I used to have a Legacy and really enjoyed the treble/bass pots. It was the same weight as a small moon though so I moved it on.
