STL Tonality Wes Borland (Limp Bizkit)

Well, he does have a relatively unique sound. Can't say I've seen a Selmer modeled before. How are STL Tones? I've never tried anything from them.

They're pretty damn good, especially their Tonality stuff.

They have cab SIC modelling.
There's a trick to get their stuff to thump like the real amps do: dialing the Resonance in the cab section to 100%. This combined with appropriate Input gain adjustment, gets their stuff in the same ballpark as Neural or the Fractal stuff imho.

Great. Like I needed another rabbit hole. :rofl

I'm definitely trying the demo

I've had the Howard Benson Tonality plugin for years and it's one of my faves

One of my favourite guitarists.
Wes Borland?

Do we know if it’s properly modelling the interaction, or if it’s just an EQ curve? The resonance know (I believe) is purely just adding some extra SIC smiley curve goodness to the sound. I haven’t seen whether the SIC models are just eq or whether it’s non linear+dynamic.

It’s a really cool plugin. The FX are the standout, ton of character and a shortcut to those nu metal tones. Also rad to see a Selmer in a plugin.

Wes Borland to me is all about the Recto tones, so you’d need to supplement this with something else to get his BEST sounds.

I screwed around with it briefly. Agree with Mirror the effects are cool and it’s awesome he made presets for specific parts/songs so you kinda know the right vibe to go for with them. I wish there was a standard 808/SD1 type drive in front for the VH4, which is pretty woofy with my RG.

JC + Cool FX (y)

I found running a tubescreamer before the plugin gave me the best results as well, would have been good if they threw one in. Always too woofy without one, kind of had to embrace it which isnt the sound I usually go for.

Mark dropped a nice 7 hour demo of it.

I love his videos but he is immune to doing anything under 15mins haha. To be fair I generally shoot 45mins of stuff and trim it down to 10-15, he just embraces it, totally works for him!

100%. I really like Mark. Once you get past his opening monologue (Which can get a little shilly, as well as his thumbnail taglines) he goes so deep into the controls and features that you really feel like you know the thing inside and out. I also like that he’s not a shredder virtuoso, so the gear never takes a backseat. He’s one of the best for that type of format. 👍

They don't mention it in the manual.
