I have posted pictures and details of several of my Kip Elder / Starr Guitar custom builds to this forum. I am not affiliated with them in any way other than being a very happy customer.

They have recently expanded their shop and now have several custom models available in Nashville's "Guitars to be Played" emporium. If you are interested in an exceptional guitar crafted by "Vagabonds, Beatniks, and Delinquents", check out their new website ...

Who does their woodwork ?
In their early days it was a mixed bag, with some done in house, and others from multiple vendors. They then switched their business model to primarily focus on OEM finishing work for other builders.

With their new models (Tomcat, Maverick, and Hustler) I have no idea. I just sent Kip a message asking that question. If they are not doing it in house, I suspect one of their OEM finishing customers may be involved. (Pensa Guitars?)

I'll update this thread after Kip responds.

Might as well toss some pics of my LP that was refinished by Starr on here. They did an incredible job.
