Some Telecaster pieces use beautifully patterned mango wood

Hi everyone,


I wanted to share some Telecaster-style pieces I've made using mango wood. I'm always amazed by how diverse the shapes and colors are—some pieces have very striking grain patterns.

I'm so happy I still have a few beautifully patterned mango plans for future projects.

It's not the most common choice for Telecasters, but I love experimenting with local woods. The tonal character is interesting—it feels somewhere between mahogany and maple.

I'm curious if anyone else here has tried mango for a guitar body or neck? Or any other non-traditional woods you enjoy?

Where are you sourcing mango wood? I'm in Florida, so it should not be too hard to get around here. Hell, I have a mango tree in my front yard

I tried to post an eBay link, but it didn't work.

After a quick search on eBay, I found several boards appropriate for guitar tops priced around $50 each from a seller in Hawaii.

The one below is $125.

IDK why Mango isn't more of a thing in the guitar community. It really is a beautiful wood.

Yes, I bought the beautiful wood from my customer, because not all mango trees have beautiful grain. I hope you are lucky.

for safe weight, because mahogany and mango are heavier than mahogany

Yes, it is quite expensive to get mango wood with beautiful grain.

I don't really know, but mango wood can only be used for the top, it is not recommended to make a whole one
