Softube Marshall Plugins

So far I have played the Marshall JMP 2203 and I think this is the best 2203 model from everything I have tried yet.
Clean, Crunch, High Gain (boosted) and everything in between, pure Marshall glory.

Softube did this amp a huge justice in the digital domain, truly deserves the official Marshall logo.
I think this will be my new reference for a proper 2203.

My demo:

PS.
Calibration is 1v Peak = 0dBFS.

+1 for the Softube stuff being excellent. UI’s are nice to use without being a rehash of the NDSP approach (which works well but it doesn’t need to be the only way). I think having officially licenced models like this is ideal too.

Also often on sale at very reasonable prices and Softube support their products really well.

They’re all solid to me, the Silver Jubilee is excellent too. The 1959 took me a while to get used to be I think it’s a cool take on those amps.

Are you using a boost on the crunchy parts?

I want to stress the importance of calibration, especially with Softube plugins.
I repeat, for Softube Marshall plugins 1vAC Peak = 0dBFS.

This is a fine example why:

In this video the plugin is very under-gained compared to the real amp, I can imagine how many people get the wrong impression because of this.

the plugin doesn't have input level adjustment so you have to calibrate it with another plugin before it.
there’s a toggle switch at the top of the plugin that has an input adjustment fader

Do you know if this is the stuff from the Marshall CODE amplifier, or is it newer???
I'm going off memory here so possible unintentional misinformation alert, but IIRC softube was providing cab sims for some real hardware amps, maybe the latest DSL series - but I'm not aware of their amp sims making it into any hardware.

Softube (company) helped create the Marshall-Softube technology (MST) in the CODE, but the plugins are something completely different from the CODE.
^^^ this, the CODE models are probably more related to the older, and short lived, JMD-1 amplifier sounds. The computer plugins would need more processing power than the CODE ever had.

That definitely sounds legit. The missing metal cover on the Master knob is a nice touch! I understand skeuomorphic interfaces not making sense on modeler hardware, but IMO there's something really satisfying about having photo-realistic amp visuals in plugins. IK does a good job of this too.

btw I'd recommend looking on KVR's buy and sell forum and also knobcloud.com for licences - you can find the Silver Jubilee plugin for next to nothing quite often.

1V=0dBFS seems to be spot on for these plugins (I'm setitng the internal level to +12dB) and the 2203 and Jubilee are excellent.

Tried the JMP 2203 plugin through a real Cab.
I have seen the crunch... I understand... :satan

Guitar -> Helix [SD-1] -> Helix SPDIF Out -> Interface SPDIF In -> DAW [1v=0dbFS, Softube JMP 2203] -> Interface SPDIF Out -> Helix SPDIF In -> Helix 1/4" Output -> Class D power amp -> Cab.
Using Helix's super quiet Instrument front-end and keeping the entire chain digital for maximum SNR and lowest latency.

what is this 1v=0dbFS?is a setting on the Softube Marshall?

That's the ADC calibration value that makes the plugin sound correct with any audio interface.
1vAC Peak at the Instrument Input should hit 0dBFS in your DAW.
There is a whole thread about it here:
