After buying the ENGL 2x100 I had a solution that made it easy to use my cab again.
I started with a mix or mics and got a great sound but not 100% happy.
Could buy a ML1 for 90,00 because the new A was released. Didn't expect a lot and bought it more to add to the other mics.
At the moment i removed all mics and only use the slate right on the cloth on the edge of the cone and dustcab. Without software it sounds very nice but with the emulation it's another story.
Are there more users here of the slate mics?
I've seen some demos where they would duplicate tracks and use 2 different mics. However when i try the software i can add 2 (or more) mics in one instance. Besides maybe being able to pan why would you run it on a duplicate ?
This is one of the things i really like.
Mixing mics without any risk of phasing issues. And it's a great way to totally change the sound after recording and make the guitar jump out or blend in.
