Side markers or fretboard markers

Side markers all the way. I’ve been really trying to improve my posture when playing, which requires not looking at the fretboard. So far it seems to be paying off. I seem to just play better when I’m practicing good posture.

I wonder how many years it takes to not even look at the board
i know im not there for sure :grin

Side markers obviously.

My earlier guitar (a partscaster) did not have any markers at all. Visited a place where they put side dots on it, after which it became easier for me to play.

I like the fretboard dots, I don't use the side markers much, because they are too small!!!

I like large black dots on maple, tiny white dots on rosewood is one of my pet hates.

If you up on the high frets, on the high strings, the side dots don't help much.

Side dots all the way. I never see the markers on the front of the fretboard. It always amazes me when someone says they can't play a PRS with bird inlays on it because it confuses them and they don't know where they are on the neck. I only see the birds until I have the guitar strapped on. At that point the birds are for the audience. I never see them until I take the guitar off.

Friend has some strat style guitar, don't remember the brand name.

She found some stickers (I think on amazon) which she used to cover markers on the fretboard because those originally present on the guitar somehow annoyed her.
