I remember buying a Preamp/Overdrive 250 back in 1983, for $20.00, on sale at Guitar Center. That was the first new pedal I ever purchased. It served me well for a long time!

I found a 1980 one in the back of a Twin Reverb I bought in the late 80’s. It’s an early yellow one with the grey circuit. Still have it but rarely use it.
I may end up with one of these. I've only heard great things but never tried one.View attachment 49493
I think this is my lone DOD pedal, but it’s a winner. One of the best modern fuzz circuits around.
You’re right. It’s one of those pedals where I don’t recall ever seeing a negative review. That’s maybe confirmation bias since I obviously love the thing. IMO if it had a boutique name it would be a $200+ fuzz, and it works beautifully no matter what guitar I use. I can’t say that about my fuzz faces. Musical Velcro.I may end up with one of these. Looking forward to putting it through its paces the next few days.![]()
I've had a bit of time with the Carcosa now and see where all the hype has come from. Wonderful overdriven tones, beautifully crunchy and compressed in the right way. Mind you, this is only running it into a HX marshall jmp, normal channel. So, much more to explore but this is a definite keeper. This just showed up at my door --
What’s your iStomp like ?Love me some old dod and digitech...

The various pedal options and tones were legit. It was a swiss army knife that could be programmed to be any number of pedals. Sadly, it was a super cool idea that just suffered from bad timing. The connection for the pedal to your phone was the old iPhone cable, and I would guess that Apple switched over to the lightning charger at the exact same week the iStomp was released. So I specifically kept an old iPhone 4 around to be able to reprogram the iStomp when needed, but in the end it was a bit of a hassle. What’s your iStomp like ?
I’ve never tried one but always wonder are they any good ?
How’s the Multi Chorus vs the Hardwire? I’ve thought about checking out the X-series modulations because of all those different modes.A few of them
