SHOW OFF YOUR PEDALBOARD!

I wish my brain worked that way :roflI have two overdrives and two fuzzes right now… I want to remove a couple and stick to one of each, but then I will feel the need to fill the empty space with something else so I am leaving them all for now.

Some awesome fuzz tones in there! Nice

Super Fuzz always rules!!! Nothing else is as badass and raucous! 🔥🔥🔥

The other "fuzz" in there is the Dumbloid ODS ("rock" voicing, gain 10 o clock, accent cranked, tone at noon, volume 4 o clock) boosted by the Range Master.

Real basic.

I bought the MP100 to use with my FM3 but it's currently changing presets in my Nemesis ADT. I keep that on a small board on my amp.

Nice to know I'm not the only freak on here who enjoys a Poly Chorus! 🔥🔥🔥

PSA: it works just fine on 18V

Edit: oh, I've just realized you sold that. Any reasons why? They do bring a good amount of cash these days, that's for sure.

Did you see that PastFX introduced a Poly Chorus in a small enclosure? I’ve been really tempted to get one, I loved my big Poly Chorus back in the day!

Yes!

I would've jumped on that if it weren't for the Dandy Horse that someone built for me a few years ago. Different circuit but it sounds similar enough, is as big as a POG 2 and has top jacks.

I did A/B it against my Stereo Poly Chorus from the early 2000's and with a bit of tweaking was able to coax the same sounds, also it excels at "Radio-Friendly Unit Shifter". Spot on impression, while the EHX doesn't exactly nail that tone, tbh.

Finally got my ass to record some board samples with my Epi LP Modern.

Guitar -> board -> CAB M+ XLR out -> Scarlett 2i4 2nd gen -> Cubase 5 Elements

Random noodling, mostly.

I tried to walk through most of my go-to sounds, and even threw in a bunch of old QOTSA riffs near the end.

The recording got longer than I expected. Enjoy!

That’s some fuzzy goodness! :guiness

Sounds great!

I like that the PastFX one has a blend knob and is a recreation of the originals instead of the stereo reissues. Sounds like some noise improvements too.

I know I’ll end up with one at some point, haha

This is an aside, but I have little interest in companies who engage in limited run or waitlist products. Waitlist less so (unless it is ridiculous like Analogman and Snouse), but limited run pedals encourage the worst in the effects pedal community and I'm not a fan. I will not purchase a PastFX pedal as they released the OG-1 knowing full well that it would be a limited release that would encourage flipper BS behavior. Hard pass on their products. I also think it is gross that JHS has engaged in this practice, and no, I don't see the Germanium Tumnus/Deluxe in the same light as a standard Tumnus/Deluxe are available in high quantities.

So how should they handle something like a NOS component that is available in limited quantities? It's either a limited run, with waitlist if demand is high, or none at all right?

Wow, that’s a pretty severe rule you’ve got. So how long is a company required to manufacture every single one of their products in order to stay in your good graces?

I think it’s highly presumptuous to assume Verle intentionally made a pedal a limited release because she wanted to encourage “flipper BS behavior” from her customers. What would the business goal motivation even be for doing that? You think her goal is to make customers pay more money to buy it from a third party where she receives no profit instead of buying it from her?

Hey, if you like the scalper/flipper market, then by all means go along with it. I however am not a fan at all. "I have this vintage, rare pedal. Yeah, it looks like a rusty nail that's been poorly hammered into various items over the 40 years I've had it, but it is still RARE! I would like $575!"

It’s not that I like the scalper/flipper market, it’s that I don’t blame pedal builders for it. A pedal builder can’t stop someone from trying to turn a profit by reselling one of their products.

My solution to the scalper/flipper problem is I just don’t buy anything from them.

I think limited runs are fun! They’re usually just things like promotional unique color ways, and I think they can offer businesses some flexibility to release products that might not be long term sustainable but can turn a short term profit. That encourages more creativity and diversity in the market.

Look at JAM pedals custom creations. Those artists aren’t going to hand paint thousands of pedals, that’s not sustainable. But it’s pretty cool that the unique pedals that are released exist!

So it's OK for Wampler to have a limited edition made with limited supply transistors but you called out Analogman? FYI, the KoT has a waitlist, but you can buy the PoT pretty much every week, AND they also have the DoT available all the time in high quantities through MXR, PLUS the Brothers AM through Chase Bliss.

I am sorry but you are not making any sense. It seems like you are blaming manufacturers for the behavior of 3rd party resellers that they don't have any control over.

I tried for months to get a POT, and was never able to. I bought a GUPTech Queen of Crow instead.

My last gig pedalboard. Since then, PolyChorus and Holygrail were sold, replaced by a Plethora X3. POG is on sale too, and I will put a Ravish Sitar instead and a Harley Benton FXL8 to manage all that.

Here is the project, pics as soon as I have received the FXL8 and plugged everything :

Crazy big pedal board. Looks like lots of fun!

You should be aware though that the space between FXL8 and the Voodoo Vibe is not sufficient. Even small plugs will get in the way, as you do not have any routing options for your cables there. Having used the Joyo PXL8 (FXL8 equivalent) I can tell you that it is difficult to get a clean cabling with that device.
The silver angled plugs you're using in the picture are the best option in my opinion, as they stack pretty well in this case. Still you need to put the cable somewhere.

Thanks for the advice. Actually, there's room above the Voodoo Vibe and I already moved it up. I believe it will be ok. I'll know more when I receive the FXL8.

I just finished my New Pedalboard. Meant to be played at rehearsals and on stage, therefor to be small, complete and MIDI switched.
Hell that was a ride! Lots of soldering and running cables, planning and making my mind up which pedal goes into what Loop and how everything works together.

The board itself is a Rockboard Duo 2.2 which I 3D-printed higher feet for (double the size) to fit everything.

Under Board
Harley Benton Power Plant
Sonulab Stomp Station
Oscillatordevices TrashPanda
Oscillatordevices Hydra4X

On Board
Delay: OBNE Mondegreen (ctrl by TrashPanda)
Gat: KMA Pylon
Wireless: Sennheiser XSW-D
Phaser: Walrus Audio Lillian
Pitch Shifter: EHX Pitch Fork (ctrl by TrashPanda)
Overdrive: EHX East River Drive (will be replaced by KMA Fuzzly Bear)
Reverb: Walrus Audio Slö
Exp/Wah: Hotone SoulPress II (into TrashPanda)

IMG_20260227_134825.jpg

Signal Flow
Pre-Loop: Sennheiser XSW-D -> Hydra4X Input
Loop 1: SoulPress II (currently Volume only, maybe Wah someday) -> Pitch Fork -> Lillian Phaser
Loop 2: KMA Pylon -> Green Drive -> Sonulab Stompstation
Loop 3: Slö Reverb
Loop 4: Mondegreen Delay

First Impressions
I've already played unfinished previous revisions. This thing is so much fun!
Only the Expression pedal controlling either Delay Time or the weird Synth-like Pitch Fork sound is something I could play days with. I haven't even touched parallel processing yet (think of Pitch Fork into Delay - which can create further octaves)!

I will put a Hotone Ampero Control in front of the board to be able to switch everything without DAW MIDI control, especially between songs.

Maybe I don't understand how loop works, or maybe your loop manager don't work the same way than mine. You always use Pylon + Green Drive at the same time? Pitchfork + Phaser too ?

Pylon is an always on device currently. The Green Drive is a placeholder and not yet in use. I'm waiting for the FX Chain Firmware Update of the StompStation to either put both in there or free another loop where I can put them (Delay Loop probably).
The Pylon also allows for external switching, but I haven't found a MIDI Switcher like Ampero control with a latching switch output. Oscillator Devices offers the Garbage collector which is able to do that, but I have no space left.

The Pitch Fork is only engaged when the Expression is used. Trash Panda can send any values and intercept output, basically working as an on/off switch in this case.
I usually do not use them together but in this case it is easy for me to switch the phaser before a song. It is not that I don't want to touch my board at all, we just play such technical stuff that I prefer to not worry about switching pedals during a song. But I'm fine in between. Not perfect, but a workable solution for me.

Oh, I see. I never thought about that... I have to consider this when I configure my FXL8.
