I love this part of the hobby… it’s child play…
Until wife reminds me that everyone has gone to bed and i have to take care of the dishwasher and washing machine… that i promised to do 4 hours ago.

But I don’t like the part that one of my pedals is to big and I may have to change it for a mini fucker…. Of some kind… low gain pedals are plenty though…
And I will stick to this board. I refuse to go bigger. I REFUSE!!!! HEAR ME??!!!!!!???!

Changed a few things up.

The dejavibe is obnoxiously large and just a bit over the top for me for the originals. The phase 90 is standing in until I find a harmonic tremolo I like.

The flanger is probably temporary but I’m enjoying the range. It can do a pretty cool chorus and phaser approximation, and a cool pseudo Leslie thing with the rate up.

The Digitech hardwire reverb is back off the board and the Meris is probably there permanently. Sounds awesome.

It’s a Chewbacca PEZ topper a girl in high school gave me as payment for a gig I played for her. It’s sat on my amp ever since, kind of a good luck charm

DD8 was finally in the budget and today I bought a NS2. My amp is not very gainy or anything, but I am just so used to whispersilence after playing modellers for years. NS2 does that. Still looking for a good standalone Boss distortion. Right now I have the MT2 (with sum Cs clipped), but I don't like it in the front of the amp. Also don't like the DS1, DS2 and DS1Waza. All tested and returned. Any tips? Maybe I'll go on a BD2 search.

Yes, but that "simple dog mod" I did clipped one too many Cs tbh. I liked it stock and tried clipping C35 (IIRC?). Sounded cool. Then did the rest and now it's kinda meh. Lost its character. The EQ is still superb. So much room in an direction.

The EQ IS superb and it lets you really dial in some cool tones. I miss mine lol I’ll likely buy one for the 3rd time one day.

Pulled my Deluxe Reverb out of the closet today and the Klon was just not happening, at least not at home levels.

I swear the Bogner Blue and the Deluxe have a peas and carrots thing happening. The bogner sounds so amplike and all the tone knobs are straight up. I just cranked the drive and turned the volume up a touch, perfection.

Out of interest: How are most of you folks handling lead vs. rhythm levels?
I mean, most of the boards posted in this thread have no dedicated control over lead and rhythm levels,
Are you just using a different drive, channel or whatsoever? Or are you happy with just playing harder or pushing the front end?
I've never been happy with that, which is why I'm adding a post EQ controlling my overall lead level (and a bit of frequency shaping) since eons already. Started doing so with my very first loopswitcher based setup and continued doing so ever since. I couldn't even imagine not having that functionality anymore, it's one of the most important usability aspects for me.

I typically use a "dedicated" lead channel, but I also run an Empress Effects ParaEq MKII in the loop for extra volume and eq to move the lead forward in the mix when using an alternate channel for lead.

To me, it's usually not an issue, since I'm part of a three-piece band.

If I still need to cut through more, I'll employ little helpers, e.g. slapback delay, "normal" or cocked wah, drippy spring reverb, upper octave, or an additional slight overdrive.

In a dense mix, I'd probably go for a parametric EQ to boost the mids even further. Should transparency be crucial, boxes like the MXR/CAE Line Driver help a lot.

OR: digital emulation/models of the above. Easy to pull off.
