SHOW OFF YOUR PEDALBOARD!

The dual xlr module output and power module is nice!
I’m toying with the idea if a sy-1 could be an addition to my post-rock ramblings. Watched a bunch of Perry Frank vids YT on it and there’s surely interesting things there. But it’s kinda the last thing in my pedal plans that may or may not come to realization.

I had some similar DIY thing (in fact a bit larger, to accomodate any situations I may run into), but went back to cables (with cable sockets) hanging out losely, because people used to step on the plugs sticking out. They can now step onto my cables as long as they wish and nothing will ever happen. Looks a lot less elegant of course.
I've had this board for quite some time so I figured it was time. The ins and outs are all on one side up front by me and the PA mains and subs where no one is walking through so it should be relatively safe?

Okay...brace yourselves...

The top board if for use with my amps. The bottom one with the AMT pedals is for rehearsal with my drummer.
He uses a high-end Roland V-drum set up and I plug right into his DAW.

Possibly. Thing is, I'm simply playing quite some gigs under unknown conditions. And after I had 2 plugs broken because someone stumbled over them, I decided it was time to not make that happen again - and electric fences didn't seem a viable solution.

As an owner of an expandable pedalboard, I’d say it’s mainly for home use. I’d get something else with a bag or case if gigging.
To elaborate a bit I use my expandable pedalboard with a permanent section and an interchangeable section, if that makes sense.

Been mucking around with the board since I got a TU-3 but here’s a pic:

Now the tuner is after the fuzz instead.

To the left, on the expandable section, I’ve got amp channel/boost switcher and a momentary switch that’s either connected to a MIDI controller or HX Stomp. Right now I just have the amp channel switcher on its side to keep it even more compact. This is the setup in front of my amp at home.

My ”other” config on the expandable part is to put a HX Stomp there instead. This is the setup when I’m at home but not in the room with the amp. Takes a few seconds to go from one setup to the other so it works well and always takes up the minimum floor space which us important for me.

Oh, is Fender still resorting to stealing other's IP? I have their mini EQ (see picture of my small board) and it's literally the same cheap (and pretty bad) EQ that you can as well get from dozens of chinese companies. And this comp seems to be literally the same Diamond Comp clone that you can as well get from Mooer - I have one of those and they're most excellent IMO, especially with that Tilt-EQ kinda tone control. But I would've thought that Fender discontinued these pedal lines. I mean, they're the ones sueing people for headstock shapes, logos and what not.

Nah, I guess rebranding and upping the price is still a big part for them.

Amazingly enough, it's not even that!
Back when I was looking for that very kind of EQ, there's been 3 of them available and because of some friend owning one already, I could compare the three directly (I ordered the other two from Musicstore and Thomann). The Mooer (I think it was Mooer) of my friend was €49, the Fame (Musicstore inhouse brand) was €39 and the Fender was €29. So it's even been the cheapest. They're all 100% the same pedal.
And I think it's been the same with this compressor, the original asking price for the Mooer was a little higher.

Their Engine Room power supplies are rebranded Vitoos units as far as I can remember. A few of the harley benton power supplies are rebranded vittoos as well.

The 29€ price tag actually surprises me, didn't know that!

And yeah, Mooer have managed to gain legit reputation among the MIC Mini Brands through the years.

I think (purely speculative fantasies) that Fender paid Mooer for some mini pedals.
ABY mk1, DI, Comp, EQ. They’re basically the same.

Didn't know that - but it seems obvious, given lotsa HB pedals and such are rebranded Joyos and what have you already.
Fwiw, the HB PSUs are most excellent IMO. I'm using them on both of my boards (one since around 6 years or so) without even the slightest issue and the isolated outs defenitely deliver what they promise, never had more silent boards than these days.

Yeah. While I have some, shall we say "moral issues" with them stealing circuits 1:1 as if there was no tomorrow, some of the pedals are great. I prefer the Hustle Drive over the OCD because of its size, I prefer the Pure Boost over the RC Booster because of both the size and the sound (I own an original as well, so I can compare directly) and I prefer the Yellow Comp over the Diamond Compressor because of the size.
The fact that they cost significantly less doesn't hurt, either - but as said, this is where my moral rader starts somewhat itching. But in the end, even if I had free access to all originals, it'd still be the Mooers ending up on my boards, so there.

I've got a HB ISO-2pro on my board at the minute and have been pleasantly surprised with how quiet it is. I've never really noticed it since I put it on my board so it's doing its job.

I have the big ass PowerPlant ISO12AC Pro Modular on the big board and the PowerPlant ISO-12 Pro on the Stomp board.
The big guy has a 3A out powering my GT-1000 (which is very nice) and some additional USB outlets, which might become very handy should I go for a ToneX One (which seems to have some issues when powered via the stock 9V socket). It's a really fat brick that I had some minor issues with when mounting it below the board, but I really love that it works with a plain IEC plug rather than coming with an external PSU.
Seriously, if there ever were "cheaper than usually expected" devices that'd get my thumbs up, these two rank very high. Every bit up to high standards (there's very little technical issues reported, too, they seem to be made to last).

Yeah it’s the Yellow Comp, just branded as Fender. Found it new for an OK price in a small music store out in the sticks, so bought it because it doesn’t say Mooer and to support the store. I knew exactly what I was buying.

Since I just use compression very sparingly it’s OK. Not that I have so much experience either. I’ve been trying to use the tilt eq a bit more for single coils. Considering upgrading to an Ego Mini sometime down the line.
