Should I Go To Petrucci's Guitar Universe This Year?

What advice can you guys give about taking a guitar on an airline flight?

I may be an outlier here, but I really don't care about autographs.
Backline is provided, but not guitars, so that's why I'll need to bring one.

I'll probably invest in a flight case.

and then I was like, "I am not the Blues Lawyer demographic it is priced

On Andy's event site, but not on Petrucci's, it showed a limit of 125 registrants. That's intimate!!

JP's didn't show that, but I called the hotel, and they were able to tell me 185 rooms have been set aside, plus they also have "commuter packages" (not staying at the hotel), so I'm guessing, (assuming it sells out), that could be ~400 people, give or take.

Then again, maybe as the event fills up, they have a cut-off amount that is lower..., I kinda hope so. 400 is a lot, I think.

I would LOVE to sit down and have a coffee with Gilbert. We're about the same age, with the same influences, so lots in common. That dude is arguably THE ambassador for guitar. His enthusiasm is right on the line between 'intense' and 'disturbing,'

I couldn't agree more! And his taste in music has widened over the years. He'll sit and talk fluently about Abba & Bee Gees, et al. tunes like it's something everyone should know.

Apparently his parents listened to the same stuff mine did. ABBA and the BeeGees were part of the soundtrack of my 70s childhood.

Petrucci should have a deal made with attendees that own an EBMM JP that they can leave theirs at home and Petrucci can bring several of his 20000 fucking models in a couple guitar boats with the caveat that if an attendee fucks it up they gotta give him their guitar. The guitars he has on tour would probably cover everyone who isn't comfortable traveling with theirs!

Man, I know so much of his stuff, if I could just PLAY any of it up to tempo, I could sit in! LOL (I am getting close on some, but it's SO MUCH WORK for me! I practice this shit a LOT!!)

I do jump around a lot (partly because it's all fun to play), so I've decided to take a page out of his practice-regimen advice, and pick something, and just focus on that for at least a half an hour or longer.

I don't think I've ever seen anything resembling a blemish, scratch or chipped paint on any guitar he's ever had in his hands!

I've now been to 4 Dreamcatcher camps (1 Satch and 3 Vai).

They are well run and worth the money, in my opinion.

The Dreamcatcher camps usually max out about 200 people.

I've heard Andy's is smaller... Another interesting one is AristoCamp.

I'd like to attend both of them at some point.
