What's the story behind some of these guitars having the same spacing of the tuning pegs on the 12 as the 6, and yet others having the 12 much closer together?

A long time ago, I thought one was called 1175, and the other, a 1275. But maybe I just dreamed that. Idk.

Anyone know the history of those (apparent) changes?

I recall Page's had the equal spacing, and Lifeson's was the tighter. But are they both designated EDS-1275?

My guess is that the wider spacing just makes the 12-string more comfortable to tune.
