RIP Rob Reiner

I just watched Spinal Tap II this weekend. I had low expectations but found myself laughing out loud. The guy was a great talent.

Stand By Me and The Princess Bride are two movies that sucked me in as a child and have stayed with me throughout my life. I watch them at least once a year and each viewing brings me back to memories of friends, family, and connection.

To have their lives taken by a troubled family member that they couldn’t give up on is tragic, but I think also demonstrates Rob living up to the themes that were present in so many of his movies…connection.

Talk about wide-ranging and eclectic. Dude was a legend.... not unlike his Father.

From comedy to satire, to tearjerking drama, to historical fiction, to thriller. He made
the world monumentally better via his craft

So. Brutal. Just. Heartbreaking. Tragic. :(

Really sad to hear, we won't know exactly what happened but what a horrible situation.

I didn't realize just how great of a run Rob had in the 80's - 90's:

This Is Spinal Tap (1984)
The Sure Thing (1985)
Stand By Me (1986)
The Princess Bride (1987)
When Harry Met Sally (1989)
Misery (1990)
A Few Good men (1992)

All of those movies were damn near perfect for what they were trying to achieve. Really incredible.
