Reaper question

Hi guys, i got midi controller (usb) how do i use virtual instruments in reaper? Do I have to download them? And when I do, is there specific way to set it up?

I don't think Reaper comes with any dedicated plugin instruments (VSTi) but similar to setting an audio input for a track, you have the option for midi input.

If your controller doesn't show up in the list of available inputs you'll have to go to options/preferences/ MIDI submenu and activate it first.

I usually can, but Kenny's penance is to make very detailed but easy to follow videos on most of these subjects. Especially stuff like this where its more about creating songs.
