Real Amp VS Quad Cortex VS Kemper VS ToneX

I think she uses the Kemper just for preamp and effects. In the live clips I've seen, she always has an amp behind, so she must be using real poweramp and cabs.

It sounds fantastic... Great band.
For me the switch from full profiles into poweramp/cab to running profiles/captures of preamps, has been very satisfactory.
Both with kpp as QC, even if I bring the actual amp of which I captured the preamp…I don’t even bother to set up 4cm. Digital goes straight into the return. Compared to full models I seem to get to my sound easier in a live setting, and less tendency to dial stuff during the gig.

Feeding the desk does require some attention, cause preamp into IR is ussually to dull, so either an IR with lots of highs, or a poweramp block/eq in the chain.

I just released my first capture pack - of the MESA/Boogie Badlander on all three platforms. Making these captures on all three I was surprised at how similar they ended up sounding. I made a little 30-second video clip switching between them playing a couple old Scorpions riffs. Not identical but remarkably close!

Hey there! Just a word of advice before you get the more stern crowd 😂

While YT videos are cool, it'll really help if you also participate in conversation outside video posting. Not only does it help you interact more with the community but it will also probably get more people to watch your videos on here

Just a thought 😀

Was the real amp in the video? Without it a big piece of the puzzle is missing.

I have a LT and QC and use amps w cabs for rehearsals and shows.

Tried a lot of different variations in terms of tube or ss power amp sections or 4cm or fx return or out front. Once you think your all good something will happen or you have a good idea and try something else lol.

Haven't done direct or silent stages. Now that I have the qc I'm messing w adding a real drive pedal since its smaller. It is always kinda interesting that you can get it dialed in good at home and then it's different at band volume. Lots of apples vs oranges situations that might send you down the wrong path too lol.

Good advice. this guy seems to just be here to pump his vids/YT channel. Comes off as insincere.

As long as someone participates in the forum I don’t personally care if they pimp their work in some posts. It’s the “just let me drop this here to get clicks and bolt” attitude of some that did that (cough Guitarjon) and leave that’s a big turn off.

No idea who guitarjon is, but I think YouTubers who are on forums mostly to promote their videos are aware that they need to give off the appearance of participation. So some of the job comes to be about how to do this convincingly.

You have to keep alarm bells from going off -- about the main goal being view farming -- but also not spend too much time pretending you're just another regular forum member, considering participation is not the actual goal. It's a thin balance and the results often unconvincing.

That said, I think some YouTubers are mostly just happy to share their relevant-to-the-forum creative work with other people. It's not so much a business decision with a specific view count end goal. They rather use forums as an avenue to reach out to other human beings and say: "Hey, I made this and I am happy about it! Maybe you will like it too". Obviously that also includes views, but in a less direct, rigid sense.

I think the two approaches can be conflated, even if there's some overlap and shades in between. And people can unfortunately be mistaken for having the wrong motivations.

In any case, I think it's generally good to encourage back and forth text-based participation. A lot of reasons for this, some of which obvious, when you want to maintain a certain desired nature of your online community.
