Hey digital gear lovers,
I compared a real guitar rig recorded with microphones and analogue preamps and the same rig captured & profiled for Neural DSP Quad Cortex, Kemper profiler and Tonex pedal. They sound pretty similiar, but not exactly the same... Which one do you prefer? Let me know!

I’ll have to watch later. What are your thoughts on the Kemper compared to the other capture units? I found an $800 PowerRack and I’m entertaining it just to complete the triumvirate of FAS, L6, KPA.

IMO on this test QC is the weakest , ToneX and Kemper sounded a bit fuller and more alive in isolation and mix

The big thing for me as a player is the feel though to an extent , Kemper people rave over the feel and when I had the QC I thought it was good

The toneX trial software I have used, felt flat and like a sim , although I don't have the hardware so maybe there is a difference ??

When you rocking through the plugin, your signal chain really matters. I mean the preamps and A/D-D/A converters.
With the pedal the feel is a bit different.

Having it h/w made a HUGE difference for me!

I really like the sound of that amp!

They were pretty close. A little difference in the midrange and lows that might have caused a bit of volume difference. Volume wise, subtle but I noticed Tonex was a bit louder than the amp, which was a bit louder than QC/Kemper. Pulled up audio meters to confirm, a lot of it is with the low end during palm muting but listening back it's just a bit different. Just something to consider with preferences.

I tried my best with volume matching in LUFS.

You have issues. Take them to a psychiatrist.
I have issues because I chose to post a Youtube link??

Do you see how disingenuous you're being, when we're fresh off the back end of you defending your mate and business associate for doing the same thing ???

What is good for the goose, is also good for the sarcastic English guitarist.
