Rattling speaker

Any idea what causes this rattling sound. I’ve isolated it to this one speaker it does it in every cabinet.

Sounds like the voice coil is rubbing in the gap. Push on the cone and see if it feels “gritty.”

It doesn’t. I’ll take it out and push in it a little harder. Will report back.

If you don’t feel anything, it might be something else. Check and see if the spider has separated.

Also, check for splits or holes in the surround.

Spider seems sound. I don’t see any holes or tears.

Must be the voice coil as you said.

I’ll throw a Seventy 80 in until I can grab a replacement.

I did run this speaker alone in a cab. I probably toasted it with my 5150.
