Back around 1985-ish, I found some crappy Japanese guitar at a garage sale for $35.
The lady selling it "threw in" an amp for free.
Turns out the amp was a vintage tweed Fender Champ (late 50's, I think)... I had no idea what I had!
The only thing wrong with it was the jewel cover was cracked and held in place with tape.
I used it at home with my BOSS ME-5 but it wasn't "metal" so mostly unused.
One day I visited a used gear shop in San Francisco where they had an Ibanez guitar with a well repaired neck crack.
I traded the amp + $200 for that guitar (which I still have).
Later I came to find out that even at that time (maybe '90) the amp was worth $1000+
The guitar actually turns out to be quite rare - it is a 1987 RG665 in white with a white pickguard and maple fretboard.
I remember searching ibanezregister.com and coming up short, so I submitted it to them. It took about 6 months for them to figure out what it was.
The neck is like the thinnest Wizard ever and also narrower at the nut. I've played and owned dozens of late 80s Wizard necks and this one out-Wizards them all!
This site says it's only from '89 and Japan only but I think they got the year wrong because the serial number on mine is definitely 1987:
Also, apparently known as RG462.
You can see one just like it here:
Edit:
Found a picture on my phone (note my high end custom graphics from Walmart auto section back in the early 90s):
