Is the lack of a tone pot on the Franky that would make it sound like it's higher output? It's definitely hotter. The Franky feedbacks more at the same volume/gain level than the Wolfgang (guitar).

Probably a big factor. The 250k tone pot is going to load the pickups down a bit. You could swap the pot for a no-load tone pot that takes it out of the circuit when on 10 and it should be a lot closer to the Frankie.
That said, there is also some variation in manufacturing in the pickups and the different guitars can make the same exact pickup sound different.
THAT I would inadvertently hit all the time! I often strum at or on the neck side of a Strat middle pickup and I also sometimes anchor my pinky on the guitar in that general area.
