Quad Cortex Mini

Pretty sure the engineering team would have thought about this during the design.

Well, some Helix units decided to stop functioning after being exposed to heat. Not saying that's the norm (or normal stage conditions), but you'd think "he engineering team would have thought about this during the design", no? And yet it happened.

Well sure, if its going to be in direct sunlight or somewhere extra hot for an extended period of time, maybe? Time will tell on that.
I cant speak for the engineers. But I'm guessing under normal/moderate circumstances it will be totally fine.

I don't think TGF is a good place to say what NDSP customers were hoping for. If I recall, NDSP sent out a survey some time ago about what customers would like next.

I'm positive they did their research on what their consumer base might want and knows better than us here at TGF. People bash the QC on here but it often sits at top of sales charts. The Mini sold out in record time.

I know people on here will equate selling out or top sales equates to people not knowing what they are buying or some stupid (imo) argument. However, years of being top sales isn't a fluke, no matter how much some of you want it to be.

If it would have been a dual cortex, 100 percent people would be finding something else to complain about. Let's not pretend the forum has NDSPs best interest at heart 😂
Even if this place IS a good indicator of what QC customers want … how many folks here have been asking for a full-fat processor in as small a hardware package as possible? That those same folks think it should also come with a slimmed down price rather than close-to-full-fat processor is the only “not what any of wanted”.

So the device was better than expectations, unless you were specifically interested in a certain price point.

IN2 on the side is stereo TRS as well.
Really? I thought it was combo XLR/1/4” TS. Pretty sure that’s the case on the big one. (Possibly switching to TRS balanced, but not stereo?)

Certainly not for studio/desktop use. If you play outdoor gigs in direct sunlight in summertime, you might need a small fan to keep it cool, but in that case I would want to keep the entire board cool anyway.
Serious question: when was the last time you saw an outdoor gig, without covering from an awning or something? Been probably 30 years for me, despite seeing outdoor stuff at village fests every summer. If the modeler is shaded, I don't think it'd be an issue.

If you’re pulling your laptop into this whole thing, and only care about the plugins, just get an audio interface and plugins. There is no benefit to having a hardware modeler at that point - you would route your interface into your power amp at that point.

This is great advice! and if you are playing live once in a while get a used HX Stomp, it wont hurt as much when somebody spills liquids on it!

I dunno dude, maybe every single online poster user sighing in unison when they saw the MSRP?

Versus every person that immediately bought it. (Who are ultimately the only people that Neural give a shit about)

This can go around and around endlessly.

They chose a different approach with the form factor. It’s going to excite people that wanted the small size and big power/feature-set and it’s going to be a pass for people that wanted the thing gimped to hit a price point.

It’s a full-power, flagship unit with a corresponding price tag that happens to be smaller than their full-sized flagship unit.

Some people wanted a lesser-powered unit with a lower price point and in (presumably) a similar size. The QCM is not that. It’s pretty simple.

I wish we could get by that sooner rather than later (I literally lol’d at how impossible that is) and move on to the things that are good or need tweaked on the unit as is, instead of wishing it was something it’s clearly not intended to be. Oh well…I know I’m wishing for the impossible. Carry on.

Are you referring to all the people that bought all the units from the first batch? Ah, ok.

And no, not every single poster. I wasn't expecting what you were expecting. Unless I'm noone, that breaks your maths.

By the way, this forum is not the market. This forum is this forum. A miniscule sample of what the market is, and mostly populated of gear nerds.

Never, but I have seen some where the cover is not effectively positioned for the entire day. Still, a pretty small issue that can be managed with shade and fans.
