Powered PA speaker recommendations?

I think I've asked this before, but my band just never moved in this direction. I feel like the stuff that folks recommend changes all the time. My band is about to move to a fully powered speaker PA system. So I'm looking for decent recommendations.

I'm thinking two 10 or 12 inch speakers for mains. Maybe a sub in the future. We're only playing bars. And two or three 8 or 10 inch floor monitors. And also, how do most folks run power to all the speakers and keep it tidy? I'm coming from a powered mixer PA, so I've never experienced having to run power to the speakers.

Budget would make a difference in recommendation. Can’t go wrong with EV stuff if you’re somewhere in the middle. Several companies make dual power/XLR cables if you want to keep your runs clean, but extension cords are cheaper and so is gaff tape. If you go with 10s or 12s and plan on running kick and bass through the PA don’t wait on the sub. If I had to buy something today for “moderate” money I’d probably get the Yamaha DZR series stuff.

This is how I would consider doing what you're doing not knowing a lot of the details.

I'd do it in stages. Continue using your powered mixer and best speakers for monitors.
If $2K is the current budget, get the best deal on 2 speakers at the $1K range. JBL, EV, Yamaha, QSC etc all have solid products in this range.
Budget oriented Class D powered speakers are always going to be a big compromise.
The amps are wimpy (they only deliver rated power in short bursts.), and the drivers (especially the horn drivers) just don't deliver at gig volume (IMO).
Buy once. Cry once.
