Got my first synth not too long ago and it's the strangest thing but more just keep joining the party hahaha.

I have an Erica Synths lxr 02 drum machine coming so this won't be everything for long lol. I also hope to get an eventide h90 soon to use with this stuff and also on guitars.

Post a family pic of your synths and other noise boxes!

This is my synth setup

I like how it's set up to focus and think, not one mouse or screen to be seen. control, generators, effects. and, coffee!

now. tell me about what that kontroler can do.

Not pictured are the Roland JV-1080

I've had my finger on "buy now" on a JV-1080 for like 4 months at this point, but i just can't do it knowing all the sounds are 100% in Roland Cloud already, plus I have a bus powered boutique JD-08, and, most if not all the sounds would also be in a little half space 1010 I just got, less some deep editing capability. but still fully multitimbral. JV-1080 just has "the" sound due to its hardware DA conversion specs. it's the dual rectifier of 90s synthesis. this tiny thing from 1999 is like having a JV-1080 on a thumb drive lol.

I did pick these old things up in the last couple months as well, spent a day making sure all the individual analog outs and reader slots are all working. they are all 6 part multitimbral, and have 6 analog outs each. just even thinking of one guitar pedal on each output and i get giggles :pickle. let alone running 6 outs into the interface and processing 6 channels in parallel in some psychosis max patch. idk what is more satisfying, the stepless sweep of a real analog resonant filter, or the leading transient of real PCM samples reading off ROM chips from 1989

I only bring in the laptop when I want to record something, I'm already on a computer all day at work, so I'd rather not have my hobbies tied to one as well! The Kontrol is just a pretty nice keyboard with custom MIDI templates and polyphonic aftertouch. I don't really use the knobs and buttons on there because everything is within reach already! It's also got really nice plugin integration which I've only tired a few times.

The JV-1080 is cheap enough to just grab one! I really love how it sounds but it's hard to fit into my setup at the moment
