Peavey Classic 60/60 and 120/120 Stereo Tube Power Amp Discussion

On the Peavey 50/50, its a decent power amp. Yeah it has EL84s but it has 8 of them (4 per channel), so the headroom is pretty good and the low end holds up well. . I still prefer the 60 or 120 versions, but I'd take the Peavey 50/50 over the Carvin.
Also good to know. Thank you again. Exactly what I was looking for.
🍻

I had both of these amps at some point. Although the Carvin was the older version T100.

The Classic 120/120 sounds great, its one of my favorite power amps, but weights a metric ton. Try to see if you can find the 60/60 or even one of the mono versions, to make the rack a bit more manageable. They are all great sounding power amps and very reliable.

The Carvin sounds ok, it sounds a bit flat and it doesn't have a lot of low end. It's better than using a SS power amp, but not nearly as good as the Peaveys. It's much lighter and essier to carry though

This guy! :beer

Would you be shocked if I had a Peavey Classic 50/50 and a Mesa 50/50. :bonk

@GuitarBilly74 pretty much nailed it, so there is not a lot to add. :beer

You already maxing out the ART, or just looking to add juice to fill all
40 acres of your homestead with deadly riffage?? :idk

Just looking forward, with economy and logic being the driving factor.
With what is being sold to suckers these days, I look backwards.
Also looking at older tube PA heads.
Just think that matching the power output, with Valve power, of my Laney....would be ideal. Level wise.

Last guitar thing after VP4.

Before I get into a light studio build..... hybrid style.

Sweet! The cool thing about those tube power amps or PA heads is you can pretty
much service them yourself. Much like buying a 1980s Ford or Chevy Pickup, without
all the rust and decay! :beer

Big, dumb outdated shit for the win!

Hold on Georgio!!!! Beam me up!!!!!🤣🤣🤣

Those old Peavey Classic Combos can often be had for a song, too.

Yes ....but that isn't exactly what I'm looking for. But a rehouse could be done too.....

I just think a rack solution would be best.... especially since I will be putting a psuedo studio together.....just put it all in one spot.

Can use it to power a nice home sound system with a few do dads .... I'm really slobbering for those ones in NH.....but it's just too far.....I am sure I will find what I need when I need it. 👍

You still use that classic 50/50?

Asking for a friend....🤣
