Old amps: info thread

I thought that it would not be a bad idea if we have a thread here discussing old amps. Solid state, tube doesn't matter as long as they sounded okay.

Saw an obscure 1x15" tube amp at a bar sometime back. There was no mention of the maker on the front panel. That amp gave me the idea for this thread.

I think a cousin of this amp was mentioned by Josh of JHS in one of his videos.

ha, i had that vox combo when i very first started playing. i have no recollection of buying it or where it came from, someone might have given it to me, but i remember having one for a short period

I used old Peavey amps (Mississippi Marshalls) back when I first started because they were all I could afford. My first one was a Peavey Triumph 120 watt 1×12" all tube combo. It was not refined or sweet but raunchy and  LOUD! But it worked great and kept doing the job night after night.

Around 2003 I sold the Triumph and got a Peavey Delta Blues 30 watt all tube combo with a 15" Blue Marvel speaker and really great sounding tremelo buit into the amp. I still use that amp occasionally.

I later graduated to 50 watt Marshall half stacks; a 1987 head and 4×12" and a 50 watt JCM-2000 with 4×12" cab. About 10 years ago I downsized and sold those. Nowadays I mostly play smaller and lighter 15-20 watt tube combos.
