One way I would familiarize myself with a band's full catalog is to work my way from their first song to their last, and add anything I like chronologically to a playlist. I did that with Aerosmith and man those late 70's to mid 80's albums were a drag. I don't think I bothered going past Get a Grip though.

Get Your Wings (2nd Album) was on my AIWA Portable Stereo Cassette Recorder constantly in high school. That would be my fave album.

It's funny because a few years prior I was looking to build on my very small music cassette collection and get all the bands I dug. I had no Aerosmith, so I went to the record store and looked at "Aerosmith's Greatest Hits" (red and white, released 1980), saw "Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotion" and grabbed it. Great album, but a handful of tunes were edited down, which pissed me off (I was used to hearing the full version of "Sweet Emotion" on the radio). So I decided to grab regular Aerosmith albums instead of greatest hits compilations. Next time I went in the record store, went to Aerosmith section and all they had was "Get Your Wings". Didn't recognize any of the tunes on it except "Same Old Song And Dance" so I said fuck it and bought it. Listened all the way through, listened again, etc... great album; every tune.

Seasons Of Wither is arguable their best ballad (with Dream On):

Spaced was a trip when *cough* baked:

Pandora's Box has some funny Tyler-esque lyrics:

When I'm in heat and someone gets a notion
I jump to my feet, I hoof it to the ocean
We hit a beach where no one give a hoot
Nobody never ever wears a suit
The ladies there, they look so proud
That's cause they know that they're so well endowed

I am not much on Fannie's conversation
Or care too much about her operation
But every time Pandora come my way
I get high, can't explain the sensation
To get it on I got to watch what I say
Or I'll catch hell from the women's liberation

Sweet Pandora
Godlike aura
Smell like a flora
Open up your door for me
Sweet Pandora
Mama crack a smile for me
Just for me

Now I ain't what you'd call a city slicker
Or claim to fame to be a slitty licker
But every time Pandora come my way
I get high, can't explain the sensation
To get it on I got to watch what I say
Or I'll catch hell from the women liberation

Sweet Pandora
Godlike aura
Smell like a flora
Open up your door for me
Sweet Pandora
Mama crack a smile for me
Just for me

Are we counting the ones where studio musicians played the leads?

Sure. Hunter only played on one song and Wagner two.
Plus, they weren't the only session guys on the album.
