I have a nice collection of reader glasses going? :rofl

I have like one pair of sunglasses right now. They're from Amazon and in my truck at the moment, but I rarely wear sunglasses tbh, unless on the beach or fishing.

Well...

I go on holidays, and most of these are from when I worked in the middle East.

That being said, when you get sunny winter days here (think late nov to early jan) the sun is low in the sky that youre literally dazzled constantly

I have a whole pile of sunglasses. The only somewhat expensive ones are the Rayban Cockpit (smaller Aviators) and Wayfarers. They're like 20 years old now, still totally fine. Everything else are just cheap no-name brands with unique enough design that I've picked up here and there.

The most ridiculous ones that will be fun to wear in the summer:
  • Big octagon shaped ones.
  • Ones with golden panthers on the hinges and red lenses.
  • Blue mirror lense aviators with foldable side shields.
When I get old I'll probably end up with Reinholdt Bogner's fashion sense based on how things are going.

I only wear Ray Ban these days. Got the standard Wayfarers, aviators in various colours, Havana, F1 70s pair and my favourites, the General.

Also have some persol knocking about somewhere.

Hi, my name is Wily and I am a Revoholic!

I have worn Revo's almost exclusively for decades. Last count, I think I had 18 or so, but I will put together a photo collection sometime this week! I can say without any doubt, that I have lost at least half a dozen of these fine shades over the years (along with some Wayfarers, other Ray Bans and a couple of nice pair that I can not remember the brands of, but they weren't cheap). Favorite ever was the Revo Half Moon, but lost that pair in an accident. Another gem was when I bought two pair in pilot style, one with green lenses other with purple lenses, swapped one lens in each and gave the second pair to a friend. He still has his, mine were lost ;~(( I can say, I have not lost a pair now in MANY years (then again, my life is markedly tamer these days)!!! I used to get prescription Revo's, but when Ray Ban (technically, I believe it was their parent company Luxotica) bought the company in the 90's, they stopped the prescription program for many years. My optometrist (who made custom eyeglasses for Andre The Giant) convinced them to make one last pair for me after the program ended which they indicated would be the last pair they would ever make (but they then revived the program years later and I don't think Luxotica still owns them).

As their old advertisement read "The world looks different through a pair of Revo's", or something to that affect, and I truly believe it. Optically great lenses, mediocre to boring/stolen frame designs (otherwise I would likely have a lot more of them). A few years back, I got a friend addicted and he now has a couple of dozen of them ;~))

The reasoning behind my addiction is the UV protection these lenses provide. You will see in the drugstore, the $5 sunglasses saying they have 100% UV protection, but that is UV-A they are referring to. Revos block that and a large amount of UV-B and UV-C as well (which some say are the more harmful UV types when it comes to your eyes). Developed by a scientist from NASA who used the technology he/they had created for satellite and space helmet shield protection.

To be continued ;~))

I have always been a sunglasses junkie. I have a mix of Costa, Maui Jim, Spy, many other brands, and a couple of cheapies I got on Amazon. I seem to get more compliments on the cheap sunglasses than the expensive ones.

I have a heavy prescription for my astigmatism and hate contact lenses so my options are pretty limited. I did clip-ons for years until they started scratching the finish off of my lenses so last year I made an order at Zenni and got some prescription aviators that didn't break the bank. I've got some purple tints in my cart that I could maybe wear to gigs because these aviators are very dark, great for full on sunlight.

I picked these up on Amazon about 4 years ago for $20. They are polarized and came with an excellent rigid zippered case. Super comfortable, excellent coverage, extremely durable, while also being affordable.
