New Vinyl Day!

Found this in a thrift shop today for $10 and was super excited

And I learned something new in the liner notes. I had always thought this album was the 50w Marshalls, I didn’t realize he had already started using Boogie amps this early on

Awesome Met, curious as to what you use to spin the discs and what powers it

:chef

Not anything good unfortunately, just a basic cheap Crosley going through some powered PA speakers.

I’d love to get a real hi-fi system one of these days. With all the records I’ve accumulated it would be a good investment

Hell yeah! I may know someone really well who has also been snagging up some Al Vinyl. :pickle

That Album is pure fire. And so tasty. I also love the Production on it. Very sparse instrumentation,
and yet it sounds so full and lush. :chef

I would have never predicted an Al Di Meola Deep Dive for me in 2024, but that's where I am at.
Probably listened to Elegant Gypsy and Casino dozens and dozens of times in the past 6 weeks.
Just inspires me, and also makes me feel good. High degree of harmonic content!

The tones of every instrument (especially the Bass) are just so freaking stellar.

Loving this song hard at the moment.

I wonder how much that Boogie was actually used, though.

He only mentions the Marshall 50W Head in interviews about
recording that Album. Was the mention of a Boogie a favor for
Randall??

You can see from1978 live (Steve Gadd on drums) he looks to be using

2 different Marshall Heads. This live footage is so great! Sounds killer
and Video from that time period is almost impossible to find. Thank you!! :love

That section with the Vibraphonist is epic! :rawk
