I remember first hearing about the Latvian company, Gamechanger Audio, a while back when they were demoing the Plus and Plasma pedals at NAMM.

I snagged these from the Austin Guitar House 50% off Black Friday deal. Do I need them? Of course not, but the fun & mojo factor for these are off the chart.

I finally got around to demoing the Plus pedal. I placed it as the first pedal in my fx loop. Tons of fun, but I was discouraged when the pedal started to stutter and cut out when I muted my guitar strings and stopped playing.

I spent the next 15 minutes reading through the manual to see if there was a switch or setting driving this behavior.

Note to self... put the pedal AFTER the gate. Problem solved.

Interesting, I would have thought that would need to be up front early in the chain.

What are you running it in to?
 
The Plasma is tempting, but I haven't gotten around to trying one. I do have and love the Plus, and have also used the Light and the Bigsby. The latter I picked up used on a whim, inexpensive as the seller said it wasn't working properly. But GCA were very helpful in getting it working good as new.

I've used all three GCA pedals on stage along with a few other pedals for various solo guitar sets:

That was for a solo acoustic set featuring my arrangements of several Jobim songs. I used the Plus to create a drone or to hold certain notes while I played over them. The sound was somewhat flat, which was OK for acoustic guitar. For that set, I was running the pedals in order as shown, but in retrospect it was awkward to have the Bigsby and Plus so close when using them both together.

For a later electric set, I put always on pedals behind the others, and those that needed toe tapping in the front row while keeping some distance between the Bigsby and Plus so I could use both feet.

In the electric set, I also used the effects loop in the Plus to add some modulation to the drone tone.

For the electric set, I used a RAT on part of one song, but am intrigued by the Plasma and maybe will consider getting one at some point, perhaps funding it by selling a few of my other pedals.

Absolutely crazy that I sometimes have to wait 5 days to receive a package from Indiana, (to Florida) (1100 miles), and my Plasma Coil which shipped out yesterday from Latvia (5200 miles} is scheduled for delivery tomorrow morning.

I listened to some demos of the Plasma back when and wasn't all that impressed. I remember thinking the whole pitch seemed a bit gimmicky, but that's probably just me being me. :D

The Plus on the other hand; I really wanted one of those. I've had various Freeze/ Hold effects in MFX units, but the mechanicals and tuning on the Plus seem very... musical? The pedal is more conventional/ classical, if nothing else. (And analog, as opposed to an on/off switch, IIRC?)

The Plus is a fun pedal and performs well after figuring out its quirks (like unintended staccato heart beats). The best part is the build quality and pedal feel. My uncle owns the largest Steinway dealership in the south east United States, and the Plus pedal feels as good as any sustain pedal on any Steinway in his showroom.

I anticipate the Plasma Coil will be a little "gimmicky" as you suggest, but I intend to use it in front of my Chroma Console and Ganechanger Recoder (which should arrive in the next few months). Oh such wonderful noise! :chef

This rig sounds gimmicky in the best possible way. :)
 
Love the creativity and uniqueness of the Gamechanger pedals. When I played in a trio, I would use the Plus to extend to extend chords and play over the top of them, like having an imaginary synth player in the band.

Damn, this UPS guy has been lurking near my neighborhood since 10 AM this morning. My estimated delivery time moved from 11 AM to "before 9 PM".

Looks like test driving the Plasma Coil will have to wait until tomorrow morning. As a habit, I limit my high volume playing after 9 PM out of respect for my neighbors.
