NMD: Suzuki GSX S1000GT (new motorcycle day)

I had a 900 Ninja before the Concours, but it wasn't practical for trips. And the wife LOVED riding! And I wasn't ready for a HD, so when Kawasaki introduced the Concours in 86, I thought it was the PERFECT bike. But like you said, it's mostly either sport bikes, or cruisers of some type.

I like twisty roads, and a bike that can handle them, but I also like being able to pack stuff for a trip right on the bike. So I sold the Ninja and bought it new in 97.

But then I got the Harley itch, and well, that's another story. Don't have the Harley any more, but I kept the Concours.

harleys are never gonna be my thing! having my legs in front makes me feel like im gonna crash and bust my legs into dust 😄

'98 VT750CD Honda-Davidson...sissy bar is off my friend's old Harley :p. Forward controls so it's like riding a La-Z-boy. I hear y'all about the fear of riding these days though. After hitting a large fawn with my car last summer...and knowing that I'm basically invisible on the road due to the invention called a "smart" phone has taken a lot of the fun out of it.

My wife and I used to ride a lot, but she's decided that the fun is over for her...probably will sell this year, but it's been a great, reliable ride.

Nice bike. My old buddy had one very similar and he loved it. But one day someone pulled out in front of him and his girlfriend was on the back. Thankfully they're still with us but the bike was totaled and they were hurting for a good while afterwards.

love it- thats a great bike! hot damn another sport tourer- right on shout if youre in maryland!

Sweet BMW, love the white! :love

Eastern Shore here. You guys got me thinking I need to get my 97 Kawasaki Concours back on the road. It's ancient compared to these rides, but still a lot of fun, since it's basically a 900 Ninja sport tourer, bored out to 1000cc, but with slightly smaller carbs for less top end speed, but more torque and mid-range power.

Me and the ex used to take long weekends on it to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I do miss those trips!

I just looked up the Concours, nice looking bike. Also sounds like what they did to this Suzuki, in terms of more torque and midrange and less upper end speed.

Congrats @TubeStack ! I'm not really a bike guy but that thing's a beauty. :love Enjoy the ride.

Thanks, @FuzzyAce!

Damn, if I were a ninja (not that I'm not) that'd definitely be my bike. There's gotta be some sword compartments and launchable throwing stars on that thing. At least some frickin' lasers.

Ahaha... no swords or throwing stars, yet...
