i have been eyeballin strats for years trying to have those sounds at my disposal.. and i NEVER find ones i like. maybe i just hate all the springy metally sounds, and the last thing i need is a floating bridgey thing.

well.. in celebrating a bit over job stuff cause.. well.. it aint a bad thing to do.. i took the search more serious. and i played a ton MORE terrible strats.

so i bout gave up. then i saw this weirdo. a squier paranormal nashville..
strat.

played it outa the box- nice poplar slab, decent pickups, solid fretwork.. strung with 9s so i could barely play it. i also ordered a new set of klusons, and a wilkinson compensated bridge. put .12s on it, set it up, adjusted the pickups BAM.

really shockingly cool instrument for a knuckledragger with terrible technique. all the strat sounds minus the trem and i can beat on it no penalties!

telestrat! ill spend more time playimg it tonight!

meantime.. this thing was on sale for $379, and it killed every player 2 i tried and managed to look better doin it. and none of the weird belly cuts- its just a double bound slab.

the other super smart mods its got that ive been threatening to do to my other teles is the reverse control plate, and it also has a push pull tone pot that turns on the neck pickup in position 1 2 and 3- and 3 i think is in series versus the position 4 OOP.. and it sounds massive. 2nd position is all THREE pickups which is super cool.

Love the guitar - hate that you put 12's on it

haha it's largely an effort to defeat my own horrendous gorilla left hand doesn't really like letting me stay in tune. It's not as bad as you think but I also don't spend a lot of time pulling big blues bends!
