WooHoo, got my Fryette PS-2A and a Mojotone 2x12 w/2 Creambacks today!
Had one helluva time getting the cab in under my "workstation/table/mountain furniture, thing". I measured pretty good, knowing it would fit. However, it's been a while since geometry class, and there's mountain laurel branches going across the back and front - which are twisted every, "Hey Zues Fuckerin' Christine"
way one could imagine.
But it fit, with some imagination and determination. Yes, the cat helped tremendously
:
There's actually mountain laurel branches on the sides, that aren't anything even close to straight, and one in the back you can't see in this pic:
And the full "Tower of Doom"
shot:
I was on the fence on buying a local (and barely used) Laney Ironheart BCC 60w with a 4x12, but I didn't trust the MV would be enough for me to use such a rig, more quietly, when needed, and still sound good. Hence why I grabbed the PS-2A - to future proof for whatever comes.
I've just done cursory adjustments, using my QC into the loop return, with the loop set to 'low input' - and I'm blown away!! Works outstanding with the QC, and lots of tweaking options from either end - if I need 'em. Couldn't overstate how easy it was to get it working to "oh fuck me level!!!", with no bullshit involved - well, other than getting the cab in place, lmao.
Tried 4 extremely varied presets and the character of each came through with more oomphiness than I've ever had here! I needed oomphiness, I can say that much. And now, if I ever decide to get a full amp head, I have the PS-2A ready! This fucker will get loud, which I'm sure surprises none of you! With the PS-2A front input button on "LO", you can't even really breathe without risking slightly moving the volume and blowing the windows out!
Oh, and the smell of tubes is pretty sweet, too!
